The Goethe Institute Presents Testimonials on Gulf Students in Germany
In three short documentaries,  young Gulf Arabs from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE  who live, study and work in Germany answer your questions and give you an insight into their everyday lives in Germany. The production „Mein Leben in Deutschland - Young Gulf Arabs in Germany” was initiated and organized by the Goethe-Institut Gulf Region in cooperation with Deutsche Welle TV. The TV edition of the films was screened on Deutsche Welle TV in June 2012. As part of the series "Facets of Life" it will be offered to TV stations internationally through the Deutsche Welle Transtel" initiative. The Government Scholarship with  Kuwait Enters its Second Year

 
5 October 2011- The Government scholarship programs in Kuwait has entered its second year, with eight  students going to Germany this year, as opposed to three Kuwaiti high-school graduates covered by the program in 2010. Kuwaiti nationals who have earned their Thanawiyya 'Amma certificate are now eligible for fully funded scholarships that cover preparation in Kuwait, a language course and a foundation year in Germany, as well as tuition and a living allowance during their course of study.     
Kuwaiti nationals who have earned a first degree and desire to pursue a master's degree are equally eligible for fully funded scholarships for study at a German university.The DAAD will take an active role in preparing the students for their stay and during their time in Germany. The first point of call for students interested in this program is the Ministry of Higher Education  (MoHE). More detailed information on this program is available in both Arabic and English.
To date, an MoU on a similar program in the UAE has been signed, but this program has not been implemented yet.

A First in Germany: Jacobs University Introduces Foundation Year in English
As the number of English-language programs at German universities increases, a new offering by Bremen's Jacobs University is bound to be met with considerable interest. Jacobs University (a private, international university in Bremen, Germany) offers an International Foundation Year for students who would like to gain the qualifications necessary for undergraduate studies in an English-speaking university. The program also provides participants with fundamental subject orientation to help them decide their ultimate course of study. The eigh-month program (October 2010 - May 2011) specifically supports students in becoming more confident in their language, subject and study skills while the live and learn on campus with students from over 90 nations.
