10th – 14th November 2008 - DAAD / SEPT Alumni Seminar in Ghana: Re-Locating SME Promotion? Experiences and Examples from Africa

The importance of small and medium-sized companies for economic growth and poverty reduction is widely acknowledged not only among academics but also among policy makers and administrators around the world.

The upcoming workshop will explore problems and perspectives of making SME promotion one of the core activities of institutions related in one way or the other to higher education in Africa.

We are very pleased to invite DAAD alumni to the international alumni seminar on "Re-Locating SME Promotion? Experiences and Examples from Africa" to be jointly organized by the International SEPT program on 10th -14th November 2008 at KNUST, Kumasi.

Participants are encouraged to present forefront development in linking institutions of higher education teaching and researching management and small scale business and SME promotion in a two-day conference from 10th till 11th November. The seminar is completed by the presentation of a new DAAD alumni platform. The last day of the seminar is reserved for final discussion and an excursion.


SEPT will be able to cover the cost of participants from developing countries that want to take part in this workshop. The number of grants is limited, so if you are interested please send us your application as soon as possible:

Welcome to the Alumniportal Deutschland!

On September 11th, 2008 German Federal Minister Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul has opened the new Internet platform Alumniportal Deutschland.

This new and worldwide unique on-line network for Germany-Alumni is a place for people who have finished a study, an education or a long-term training in Germany or funded by a German organization in Ghana. It offers opportunity to make the stay in Germany the base of a long term personal and professional career.

You are invited to access the alumniportal-deutschland.org. Find out more about events, trainings, interesting subjects, open places and a lot more and get into contact with other alumni as well as with partners from economy and civil society.
