About Us

DAAD stands for "Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst" - "German Academic Exchange Service". The DAAD manages the country's government-sponsored programmes in support of higher education cooperation and exchange with all other parts of the world with public funds. Its programmes are open to all countries and disciplines, to foreigners as well as to Germans.

The DAAD is a joint organisation of more than 300 German institutions of higher education and student bodies which run over 250 programmes. The DAAD is represented in Ghana through the DAAD Information Center in Accra.

Since German universities offer a vast variety of English taught International Degree Courses, Germany has become the third most popular study destination for international students worldwide for studying abroad – and it may be also the right destination for you to pursue a postgraduate degree programme with relevance to developing countries on a DAAD scholarship!
