Counseling Format at the
DAAD Information Center
The DAAD Information Center changed its
counseling format in April, 2011. This comprises a monthly
Introductory Session on Study and
Research Opportunities in Germany. Participation
in this session is free of charge but mandatory prior
to visiting the Information Center for individual consultation.
Participants will be issued a participatory note which they
will have to present before the individual consultation
during office hours. Anyone planning to study or do research
in Germany is welcome to attend the Introductory Session.
During the Introductory
Session informational material will be handed out
and information will be given on
- International Degree Programmes in Germany (Bachelors,
Masters, PhD),
- General entry requirements and application procedures
to German universities
- DAAD scholarship programmes
- Subject related information (eg. on studying medicine
in Germany)
- Visa requirements, among others.
The Introductory
Session will be held on the 1st Thursday of every
month starting from April, 2011, between 4pm and 6.30pm
at the Goethe Institut (inner courtyard). If the first Thursday
of the month falls on a public holiday, the Introductory
Session will take place the following Thursday.

in 2012:
14th January / 2nd February / 1st March / 5th April / 3rd
May / 7th June / 5th July / 2nd August / 6th September /
4th October / 1st November / 6th December
After having participated in the Introductory
Session, you are also most welcome to see us for individual
consultation during our office hours at the Information
Center Accra.
Symposium
on "Study and Research Opportunities in Germany"
at the University of Cape Coast
The DAAD holds a symposium on Study and Research
Oppportunities in Germany at the Universtiy of Cape Coast.
All students are invited to get first- hand information
on degree programmes, scholarship opportunities and other
relevant issues.

In 2011 DAAD awarded more than 18 scholarships
to Ghanaian students to pursue various International Degree
Programmes at German universities. The DAAD is the major
German organisation running more than 200 government-sponsored
programmes in support of academic co-operation and exchange
between Germany and abroad. Worldwide, per year more than
73.000 international and German students and scientists
are sponsored by the DAAD.
