The German Chancellor Fellowship for tomorrow's leaders

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation offers prospective leaders from Brazil, China, India, Russia and the USA the opportunity to conduct a project as guests of the partner of their choice in Germany. With the support of your host you can spend a year concentrating on a project you have chosen yourself and give your career that crucial boost. German Chancellor Fellowships are open to an array of sectors such as politics, economics, media, administration and culture.

 Send an application, if you are a university graduate with an international bias from Brazil, China, India, Russia or the USA and have already acquired initial leadership experience. You should have completed your first degree less than 12 years ago and work in a sector such as politics, economics, the media, administration and culture. Please demonstrate in the application that your project will be of social significance and that you have the potential to build future bridges between Germany and your own country.

How to apply 

We offer youfor example a monthly fellowship, additional financial support for family members accompanying you or travel expenses, individual mentoring during your stay in Germany and an extensive alumni sponsorship, particularly to help you sustain contact with collaborative partners in Germany during your entire professional career.

During a four-week preparatory phase in Bonn and Berlin, you will be able to make contact with the other fellows. You will meet them again at various events in the course of the fellowship: Together, you will be invited to attend a reception at the German Chancellery, travel around Germany and visit important public institutions and companies. An intensive German course will help smooth your path into everyday life in Germany.

The Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany is the patron of this fellowship programme. Submit your application by 15 September. The fellowship begins on 1 October of the following year.

Bayreuth International Summer School (BISS)

From 1 to 14 July 2018, the Bayreuth International Summer School (BISS) will welcome students from all over the world to join courses on the campus of the University of Bayreuth.

As one of Germany’s youngest universities, our interdisciplinary focus and the innovative collaboration between many of our disciplines are key features of Bayreuth’s research culture. The University of Bayreuth is considered to be among the best young universities in the world, as can be seen by its position in the Times Higher Education (THE) worldwide ranking "150 under 50". Thanks to its diverse array of disciplines and strategically chosen focus areas, the University of Bayreuth is internationally recognized for its research contributions and offers an excellent study environment.

The BISS 2018 consists of seven individual courses, each one specialised in a different area of study and research. Organized by the International Office in corporation with the Campus-Akademie, all courses are conducted in English by international guest lecturers and will take place over a two-week period. Participants have the opportunity to engage theoretically and practically in various seminars and discussions for around six hours each day. The courses are in line with the research areas of the University of Bayreuth.

Come and be a part of our tight-knit campus and Bavaria’s fun-loving town of Bayreuth, which is firmly in the hands of the students. The Frankfurt Summer School 2018 organized by Goethe-University is going to take place from 16 July to 10 August 2018.

Frankfurt Summer School covers three different academic tracks:

1)       Legal Studies - Law in a Globalized World – Fundamental, International and Comparative Aspects

2)       Psychology - Social Psychology and Organizational Behaviour. The Psychology track is also open to students of related fields such as Business Administration, Political Science and Social Sciences.

3)       Natural and Life Sciences – Biodiversity and Global Change.

 During four weeks, participants will attend specialized seminars provided by researchers from Goethe-University plus German language courses. Also included is our diverse cultural programme in the City of Frankfurt, Heidelberg and Strasbourg. All courses are held in English.

The Bonn Graduate School of Economics (BGSE) offers a two-stage graduate program that combines demanding courses with early individual research in a supportive and intellectually demanding environment. Students finish the two-year course phase with a Master’s degree specialized in economic research (M.Sc. Economic Research) and the three-year dissertation phase with a doctoral degree (Ph.D. equivalent).

Outstanding (top 10%) students holding a bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics or related fields (e.g. mathematics, statistics, business administration, accounting, and finance) are encouraged to apply for admission.

All BGSE activities are conducted in English. Grants are available. Students are provided with adequate office space. Our student body benefits from an excellent faculty and numerous collaborative research activities. BGSE alumni have excellent career prospects in academia and beyond.

Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, established a satellite Campus in El Gouna to act as an academic hub and research center at the Red Sea in Egypt. TU Berlin Campus El Gouna currently conducts the following advanced Master’s degree programs in:
