Our office

The DAAD Information Centre on Higher Education in Germany was established in Kuala Lumpur in 1999. It is a service centre for Malaysian students and scholars set up by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The DAAD is a joint organisation of the German higher education institutions and student bodies and sponsors academic cooperation worldwide, especially through the exchange of students, scholars, academics and scientists. The requisite funding largely comes from the Federal Government Budget.

Here in Kuala Lumpur, we provide free and comprehensive counselling on all matters related to study and research in Germany such as graduate and postgraduate courses, admission requirements, application procedures or scholarships.

For PhD candidates, we offer information on how to find German professors interested in supervising PhD studies of Malaysian students. Malaysian scholars wishing to enter into some form of cooperation with German universities will also find useful information and support at the IC.
